The sculpture with its contrasting materials represents an impossible and dream like stasis, the fragile glass balloons that Would break and shatter into pieces should the cart actually move, the cart itself an ancient pre-cursor to our present dependability to automobiles, to Oil,stands as the collective recepticle of our Own fragile Hopes and fears. Balloons are themselves associted with celebration, filled with lungfulls of an individuals Air, the many festive colours equallingGlass vials in the Spirit of duchamps Air du Paris, a Place relocated, a Moment captured in Glass, scientific yet purposeless in any Objective Way, the Ballons are muted individual Hopes, Dreamscape, Memories. The cart in its historical Form, Could also be representative of our collective history, a cradle of sorts, Basic skeletal, elemental and yet totally familiar despite it,s obsolescence. The sculpture is a Chance of Stasis, a Chance To contemplate Origin and therefore To also consider Direction, and ultimately our Own roleplayed either actively or passively in our Own Time.
