AES+F

Moscow-based, AES+F collective (Tatiana Arzamasova, Lev Evzovich, Evgeny Svyatsky, and Vladimir Fridkes) is best known for combining modern technology, Hollywood cinema, fashion photography, advertising, mass media, popular culture and classical aesthetic of old masters’ paintings. Their works appear as elaborate and defiant allegorical scenarios aimed at providing a social and political commentary on values, vices, and conflicts of contemporary culture in the global sphere. In their own words: ’It is extremely important to us to put the viewer into a state of full immersion. To overwhelm the viewer with more than they can process […] It can be compared to real life, where you are never in a position to take in and process every piece of information around yourself.’ AES+F achieved worldwide recognition thanks to their participation at the 52nd Biennale di Venezia (Russian Pavilion) in 2007 with their project ‘Last Riot’.
