Jeremy BLAKE

American artist Jeremy Blake (1971-2007) is best known for his use of digital media thanks to which he produced painting-like or film-like artworks, taking as a starting point large-scale, semi-abstract digital C-prints. He became widely acclaimed as a pioneer in merging painting tradition with the new digital world, by dissolving the boundaries between object and time-based art. "I do think that adapting to new technological speeds is part of an artist's job," Blake said in an interview. Inspired by a variety of different sources and thanks to the use of basic applications, he created compelling pop visual narratives, 'although […] darker and more personal and more involved with language' than Pop Art itself.
