Mark TITCHNER

The World Isn't Working, 2008, digital print on vinyl with eyelets.

British artist Mark Titchner explores the tensions between the different theories that inform our society. Be they religious, scientific or political, Titchner extracts them from their historical framework providing a secular reinterpretation. Freely mingling ideologies is part of Titchner's invitation to accept the validity of opposing beliefs, while shedding light on the complexity of the collective psyche. Titchner works across several media, including digital print, wall drawing, video, sculpture. In his installations, he often employs motifs taken from advertising, religious iconography, club flyers, and political propaganda.
