Maria Friberg [se] No time to fall 2001 | 6,5 minute This video piece is my most direct political commentary so far. It is also the first time I work with images of a public figure, the President of the United States. The resulting work tells a story which simultaneously deals with public and private matters. The video was produced soon after Mr. Bush won the presidential election, well in advance of the events of September 11th. The first public viewing of the piece, however, took place in a show that opened on September 7th in New York City. It was a very intense situation, and the response from audiences in different locations continues to vary with time. |
